Vinyl Records
Nothing compares to the sound of a vinyl record! It’s a hard thing to describe but the sound of vinyl has a warm, full sound that modern digital media lacks. In the last few years vinyl records have made a bit of a comeback. Many audiophiles will tell you that ‘analog’ blows ‘digital’ out of the water as far as sound quality, and we would agree. Even the subtle crackling and moving of the needle on the record will take you back 50 years, even if you weren’t born yet. Another aspect that has brought vinyl back is the cover art. Many people now just turn on the radio, Pandora or Spotify and never even notice that visual message and first impression that helped sell music for so many years.
We are looking for good+ to new condition vinyl record collections in the classic rock, jazz, blues, heavy rock, punk, pop, folk, alternative, reggae, . . . . and similar genres (domestic and imports). Artists like: The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Queen, David Bowie, The Eagles, The Doors, The Misfits, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Tom Petty . . . and many other artists (newer and older) as well. CD’s and DVD’s
CD’s revolutionized music in the 1980’s at a time when cassettes where the main source of listening at home and in cars. CD’s were compact, light weight and much easier to navigate and play. With CD cases you could fit 100 CD’s in the same space it would take for only 4 – 5 cassettes. Before CD’s you also had to guess how long it would take to rewind or fast-forward to get to a certain song. I remember sitting at the piano as an 8 or 9 year old as I was trying to learn some classic rock songs and I spent half of the time just getting the cassette to the right spot on the album. Now that most music is digital CD’s are not as popular as they once were but there is still a market for some CD’s.
We do also buy some CD’s ranging from early printings, high definition CD’s, Super Audio CD’s (SACD), Super High Material (SHM-CD), limited or rare printings, imports, box sets, promotional, and sealed CD’s or CD sets. Classic rock, jazz, blues, heavy rock, punk, pop, folk, alternative, reggae, and more. We also buy some CD’s that are not music. We would be interested in large collections in excellent and new condition.
Similar to CD’s, DVD revolutionized the visual side of media in the late 1990’s. Prior to the DVD, VHS tapes filled a shelf or two in most homes in the 1980’s – 1990’s. Everything from films / cinema, Disney classics, home movies, educational and lectures, hobbies and crafts, documentaries, ETC.
Types of DVD’s we buy: Documentaries, historical, directors cuts, film noir, new / sealed, obscure cinema, box sets, collectors editions, lectures (The Great Courses or similar), Blue-ray, Walt Disney Treasures, Anime and Japanese / foreign (Dragon Ball Z, Takahata), rare cartoons, science fiction, esoteric topics, ETC.
